Transidentity
Transidentity is the fact that a person has a gender identity different from the gender assigned at birth. This means that a transgender person can identify as male, female, or other, regardless of the biological characteristics assigned at birth. Transidentity is an experience that can include a desire to transition socially, medically, or both, to align one's appearance and/or social role with one's lived gender identity. It is part of a diversity of individual experiences and reflects the plurality of gender trajectories.
