Intergenerational: When Age Differences Become a Competitive Advantage

For the first time, four generations are working side by side in companies. The tensions are real: different communication styles, differing attitudes toward work, and misunderstandings about commitment or legitimacy.

What Is It, Anyway?© Intergenerational confronts players with these everyday sources of friction. Not to assign blame, but to reveal the assumptions that each generation projects onto the others.

In 45 minutes, the team identifies its own age-related biases, uncovers what lies behind labels such as “disconnected senior” or “unengaged young person,” and establishes concrete guidelines for cooperation.

Implemented at Caisse d’Épargne Île-de-France as part of a management workshop and at Filorga to strengthen cohesion among teams of different generations.

Why Raise Awareness About Intergenerational Relations in the Workplace

For the first time, four generations are working together: baby boomers, Generation X, millennials, and Generation Z. Misunderstandings about attitudes toward work, hierarchy, or technology create daily tensions that hinder collaboration. Turning this coexistence into a complementary dynamic is a strategic priority for any organization that wants to retain its talent and pass on its knowledge.
