Quality of life at work (QWL)
Since March 31, 2022, the term "quality of life at work" has been replaced in the French Labor Code by "quality of life and working conditions" (QVCT). It refers to all the conditions under which employees carry out their work, influencing their physical, psychological and social well-being. It encompasses several dimensions, such as general atmosphere, corporate culture, working conditions, and the degree of employee involvement and autonomy.
QWL is based on several key elements:
- Working conditions: Workstation layout, safety, workload,
- Management: A management style that listens to and values employees,
- Workplace relations: Social climate and communication between colleagues,
- Work organization: Task sharing and flexibility,
- Professional development: opportunities for learning and advancement,
- Equal opportunity: fairness in pay and promotion.
