"For the purposes of the present law, a disability is any limitation of activity or restriction of participation in life in society suffered in one's environment by a person due to a substantial, lasting or definitive impairment of one or more physical, sensory, mental, cognitive or psychic functions, a multiple disability or a disabling health disorder." Article L114 of the French Social Action and Family Code

A number of support schemes are available:

  • Possibility of obtaining recognition as a disabled worker (RQTH)
  • Possible workstation adjustments (hours, equipment, etc.)
  • Employment support mechanisms (supported employment, adapted apprenticeships)
