Any conduct related to a person's sex which has the purpose or effect of undermining their dignity or creating an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment (article L.1142-2-1 of the French Labor Code and article L.131-3 of the French General Civil Service Code. Unlike sexual harassment, sexist abuse does not require repetition. This notion was introduced by the August 17, 2015 law on social dialogue and employment with the aim of combating the "ordinary sexism" that employees may face.
