Gender binarity refers to a system of gender classification based on two distinct and opposing categories: masculine and feminine. This model assumes that each individual belongs exclusively to one of these two genders, according to the sex assigned at birth, and that these gender identities are fixed and stable. Binarity is part of a traditional vision of gender, limiting the possibilities of expression and identity to the categories of male/female, without taking into account the diversity of gender experiences that can exist outside this framework.
