Mapping Discrimination Risks in the Workplace

Identify, prioritize, and document your areas of vulnerability. A key requirement for the AFNOR Diversity Label.

B-corp

Discrimination risk mapping is a key component of the AFNOR Diversity Label. It identifies, prioritizes, and documents areas where your organization is vulnerable to discrimination—in your HR processes, management practices, and operations.

Without reliable mapping, there is no certification. But more importantly, without mapping, there is no real insight into your legal and reputational risks.

Why is risk mapping critical?

Regulatory requirement: The AFNOR framework requires a formalized analysis of discrimination risks as a prerequisite for any application for the Label.

Legal protection: In the event of a dispute, the risk assessment demonstrates the employer’s due diligence. Failure to provide one may be considered a breach of the duty to prevent accidents.

Strategic Management: The assessment prioritizes your D&I investments where the risks are highest.

Management tool: It empowers every level of the organization by making it clear who is responsible for which risks.

Our 4-phase methodology

Phase 1 — Scope Definition and Documentation

Analysis of your HR processes, collective bargaining agreements, litigation history, and existing metrics.

Phase 2 — Interviews and field observations

Semi-structured interviews with managers, employee representatives, HR staff, and employees.

Phase 3 — Risk Matrix

Development of a matrix that cross-references the 26 legal grounds for discrimination, the relevant processes, and risk levels.

Phase 4 — Deliverables and Recommendations

Structured report ready for the AFNOR file: visual mapping, detailed risk sheets, prioritized remediation plan.

What you get
